Congratulations on reducing your expenses by referring

All our client's should have received the referral promotion we began recently. It basically provides $5 off a week to your payments for each new business that you introduce to Salon Swift.

We'd like to thank and to congratulate the businesses that have been active in using this promotion. Some of you have reduced your weekly payments to a fraction of what they were. If you need more details on this promotion please contact us and ask for the referal info kit.

For us the promotion means new clients and for our clients it means being rewarded financially for simply talking to their friends about us. It's probably very much like in your own business. You have clients that are talkers and clients that aren't so social.

Remember, Salon Swift can keep track of how a new client heard about you, so you can reward them and encourage further referals. When entering client details, make use of the referal area and the referal client area. You can then use that information to reward your clients that refer you new clients.

You can take it a step further, you can run a promotion to encourage new clients through existing clients like we have. It can work but you must have good data on your clients to make it work. So remember, use of the referal tools in the new/edit client screen.

Again, congratulations to those that have reduced their outgoings by using our referal programme!

Mythbusting at Hair Expo Sydney 2011

Hair Expo

We took a trip to Hair Expo this year to see what was happening, say hi to our clients and generally enjoy the weird and wonderful goings on of one of the largest trade shows of its kind in Australia.

We enjoyed with what we saw but we did notice a bit of confusion with different vendors trying to outsell each other using a mixed variety of 'techno babble'.

We decided it might be helpful to do a little 'mythbusting' by putting some facts to some terminology being used lately and to let you know where Salon Swift stands. We'll keep it simple and quick and if you'd like further info please do contact us.

The Cloud
This is a term being used a lot lately. It's a great, relatively new technology (the last 6 - 10 years ) that basically means your software runs on a groups of computers on the internet.

Marketing effectively to your clients & keeping costs down

SMS marketing

SMS versus post or email. SMS is different from email and post marketing. It’s considered “instant” as the client will usually receive the message within seconds to minutes.

They also have the ability to act straight away to the marketing as they are using their phone at that time.

How to increase your chance of response

When using SMS it’s important to try and catch the client’s attention enough that they reply then and there, this is usually done by breaking your marketing message into three parts:

  • The Offer: An offer strong enough to get their attention.
  • Offer Timeframe: The offer is usually restricted to a certain timeframe to encourage fast action from the client.
  • Claim Timeframe: The client must be encouraged to respond immediately whilst you have their attention. This will also let you know if your campaign was successful or not.
